DIAGNOSING & TREATING ISO READINESS
Challenge:
GTR Labs, Inc., a Gassaway manufacturer of high-frequency x-ray generators for medical imaging applications, sells its products domestically and worldwide.
GTR's commitment to quality and customer service have enabled the company to develop markets in South America, Africa and Southeast Asia. The European market, however, remains closed to GTR because x-ray generators in Europe must carry a CE mark, which requires ISO 9001:2000 certification.
Solution:
WVMEP performed an audit of GTR's current business practices and manufacturing processes, reviewed audit results, developed a framework for implementing an ISO system and worked with GTR staff to develop documentation policies and procedures, and performance indicators.
WVMEP also conducted internal audit training, assisted GTR with preparations for the company's certification audit and identified funding sources to support GTR's ISO activities.
