Quality Management Systems

WVMEP offers a step-by-step approach to implementing an effective, ISO compliant quality management system. Each step is provided as a separate project, allowing clients to proceed through the process at their own pace, as time and business conditions allow. Some steps take just a few days, while others may take several months. If the objective is certification to an ISO quality standard, WVMEP will get you there! The steps are:

Management Overview Training

Management training covers a history of the ISO standards and an overview of the current ISO standard and key elements. Management roles in a quality management system (ISO 9001:2000) or an environmental management system (ISO 14001:2004) based system as well as benefits, timeline, costs, training, and system maintenance requirements is reviewed.

Gap Analysis

A gap analysis is a one- to two-day study that identifies what systems are already in-place, which meet the quality standards. It also identifies the areas that require enhancement to meet the ISO standard requirements. This is the baseline for building a quality system.

Documentation Development

To ensure a solid and repeatable process, documentation is a critical component to a quality management system (QMS). Quality manuals, procedures, work instructions, and forms need to be developed to provide a foundation for the system.

Employee Overview Training

Overview training is provided to help introduce the concept of a quality management system and establish roles and responsibilities for establishing and maintaining a quality environment.

Internal Auditor Training

A requirement of an ISO system is to conduct internal audits to monitor the effectiveness of the quality management system. A one-day training session is required to qualify auditors and help the audit team understand how to establish audit schedules, review documentation, and perform audits.

Preparation for certification audit

WVMEP offers assistance in contacting registrars, providing materials for the interview process, and on-site assistance during the registration audit.

System Maintenance

WVMEP can assist companies with their quality and/or environmental system maintenance and internal audit process. This service is provided to companies with limited employees who are able to maintain the standard requirements or may be uncomfortable maintaining the system after registration.

Non-ISO Quality System Development

Some companies may want to apply the ISO quality-based system, but do not want to pursue registration. WVMEP can tailor a quality management system (QMS) to fit your company's needs and still achieve continuous improvement in your products, processes and people.
