What is a Problem Specific Solution Module (PSSM)?

A PSSM consists of a set of Lean Six Sigma tools that are utilized to analyze and correct a specific process problem. There is a wide range of business and manufacturing problems that can be addressed with Lean Six Sigma. The problem has always been identifying the root cause of the problem and determining which tools are needed to fix the problem. The PSSM program provides detailed roadmaps showing which tools to use and how to use them to identify and solve the problem.

WVMEP Program

The WVMEP Lean Six Sigma team has utilized information and data from many world class Lean Sigma programs to develop this modular approach to solving process problems. The program began with 26 significant process problems, which we have placed in three major categories.

• Business System Issues

After this a detailed assessment is conducted to verify the types of problems that are affecting your business. The result of this assessment is a detailed plan for analyzing and solving each of the problems using the Problem Specific Modules.
