  • Understanding the essentials for an organization to meet customer requirements.
  • Effectively managing material and informational flow to improve process speed.
  • How to eliminate defects through variability reduction.
  • Understand the basics of process and systems thinking.
  • Why validated data & information is critical in factual decision making,
  • Team formation, dynamics, and leadership skills for timely completion of projects.
  • The importance of continued learning in the CI process.

WVMEP Approach

Programs are facilitated by an ASQ certified Black Belt using the latest methods followed by many successful organizations. A Green Belt program typically requires 80 hours of facilitated learning and includes the completion of a company approved project - benefiting the bottom line performance. Training materials prepare participants for American Society of Quality (ASQ) Green Belt certification and meet the Society of Manufacturing Engineers Lean/Sigma Body of Knowledge requirements.

After completing training and a company-approved project, participants will be able to DO the following:

  1. Think about their organization as a collection of processes, with inputs that determine the output.
  2. Gain a new appreciation on why processes are parts of systems.
  3. Relate Continuous Improvement (CI) concepts to the overall business mission and objectives.
  4. Use effective tools and concepts to evaluate the capabilities of a processes and organizational functions.
  5. Understand and apply the five step D-M-A-I-C model as a framework to effectively sustain process improvement, problem solving, and new product/services development activities.
  6. Employ a wide range of process improvement techniques and supplement the D-M-A-I-C model with unique approaches matching the culture and vision or the organization.

Recognize and contribute to organizational factors that are necessary groundwork for sustaining successful CI efforts.
